Montezuma’s Dark Chocolate Absolute Black – 100% Cocoa

Remember my review of Montezuma’s Chocolate? This one is something particularly special. Montezuma’s Dark Chocolate Absolute Black bar has been highly praised in the press for both its low sugar content and its delicious dark chocolate taste.

With less than 0.5 grams of sugar per 100 grams, Montezuma’s Dark Chocolate Absolute Black bar is suitable for diabetic chocolate lovers as well as those avoiding sugar for dietary reasons, or on a #keto diet.

Like all dark chocolate, this means there is a high fat content (54%) but there is also a high protein content at 12g per 100g – in case you fancy using chocolate as a primary source of protein! Let’s argue that it’s a major food group…

The Absolute Black bar is bitter if you’re not used to high cocoa chocolate. You may wish to work your way up with Lindt’s 70%, 85% and 90% if you’re trying to acquire the taste. But Montezuma’s 100% dark chocolate actually tastes much smoother than other 100% dark chocolate bars I’ve tried. It’s well rounded.

Find out more, or browse the dark chocolate selection at It’s well reviewed; if you try it, you’ll see why!

    1. Lindt is a great place to start for building up your taste buds to the darkest, most intense flavours of dark chocolate! You can always use it in baking as well 🙂
